Random Acts of Thinking

  • Is fire alive? Fire appears to have all the attributes of life. It is born, breathes, eats, defecates, travels to obtain food, and reproduces its self. Then it dies by starvation, lack of oxygen, or loss of body heat. If fire is not a life form, what are the attributes of life? If fire really is alive, it has no apparent diseases, and so must be the most perfect form of life.

  • Gender: All virtues and all vices are to be found in both male and female. Despite Dr. Gray, misunderstanding communications are to be found in as well as between both genders. If the
foregoing is true, and discounting the purely physical or differences that result from the physical,
what is the difference between men and women?

  • Rationalization: Most of us receive fair warning when we are about to make a mistake. We usually go ahead and make it anyway, but the signs were there and we noticed them. Our ability to explain away things that we don't want to hear is probably our greatest stumbling block to happiness.

  • Messages: I have been told that my actions send a message to those around me. I have noticed that we tend to receive the messages that we want to hear. If I have not received the message that some believe that I should have gotten from the way they have treated me, it is not because I am too stupid to understand or enjoy being hurt. It is because I did not want to receive that message.

  • O.J.Simpson: I must be the dumbest person on the face of the earth. As an example of that, I think I am the only person in existance who still doesn't know whether or not O.J. did it. Absymal ignorance can be extremely lonely.

  • Prejudice: Fear is probably the root of prejudice. When men use extreme measures to protest women entering into occupations previously held only by men, does anyone imagine that it is because they believe that women are not capable of doing the job?

  • Jews: Because of centuries of persecution, Jews have evolved into the world's only master race.
    Evidence:
    • In most professions, financial and entertainment fields, and scientific disciplines, they normally hold the highest positions and are the most respected in those fields. This despite the fact that there are only about 14 million Jews in the entire world. This translates to approximately 1/400 of the world's population.
    • When Hitler set out to create the master race he tried to eliminate them. After all if you want to replace something, the surest way of doing it is to destroy what is already there.
    • For over 50 years Israel has not only managed to exist but has prospered as a tiny nation surrounded by large powerful enemies who's intent is to destroy them. These same enemies have appealed to the world commnunity to assist them.

  • Gun Control: It's a shame that time travel is not feasable. Just think, if it were possible to go back into the past and eliminate guns, we would save a lot of lives and change history. Genghis Khan, Jack the Ripper, the Mongol hordes, Lucretia Borgia, and Attila would have been unable to kill. After all everyone knows that guns kill people, and that if we could destroy them or make them illegal, murder and war would be memories of the past.

Could these things possibly be true?
